Welcome to Ew, Dating! Don’t let the name fool you, this isn’t a dating blog. It’s more of a life blog, or a stumbling through life at the age of 50+ blog. Wait, did you just stop reading? Ok, I’m older, but even us fifty-year-olds have stories left to tell.

For a more detailed “About” (since WordPress is telling me that’s necessary), please keep reading. I won’t share my origin story (or how I came to be); instead, I’ll tell you how this blog came to be. I was recently speaking with someone about dating, and my response was a resounding “Ew, dating!” And that’s it, this blog was born.

If you’re not familiar with the term “Ew”, it comes from one of the greatest (if not the greatest) shows on television, Schitt’s Creek (Ok, maybe it doesn’t come from there, but that’s where I know it from). And I’ve seen “Ew” followed by many words. Sometimes the word is used positively, like “Ooh, dating”, but I can assure you that is not my intention. Let’s be honest, dating sucks, so this blog will use the word how I feel it’s meant to be, and as it was said by Alexis Rose three times during the six seasons of Schitt’s Creek, “Ew, David.” I think that Alexis would also say “ew, dating” with as much strength as I did, but she would totally “love this journey for me.”
