In my last post, I mentioned that I was on a new adventure in the culinary world. I’m singing this as I’m typing because, well, one word, food! I took a course through Holyoke Community College that was free and incredible! For this class, we were required to take the ServSafe Manager, Alcohol, and Allergens exams. I studied for these tests like they were the bar exam (not the alcohol bar but the law bar). Anyway, I passed all three exams, and it felt as if I was surrounded by flour (if you’re wondering, that’s a really good feeling. Just look at the photo above. Flour is amazing.) So, after I passed, I proudly wrote the following on Facebook, and suddenly the soft flour surrounding me turned into mush.
“So, as a follow-up to my last post, I did pass the ServSafe Manager exam. Honestly, it was stupid hard. The wording of the questions was just weird. I asked the instructor about one question, and he said, “Don’t think too much into this”. Ok, but that’s what I do. Also, I turned studying into a fun game on Blooket. Kahoot tested me, but Blooket was nice and easy going with me. #belikeblooket Thank you all for your kind words and support!!“
I received so many thoughtful congratulatory comments, and then I read:
“I took one a few years back. They do word it to mess with you. I didn’t find it hard at all if I do say so myself. I got 97/100. Did they give you your score?”
Maybe this person missed the hashtag #belikeblooket? Or, maybe they’re just way too honest? In any case, if you’re all wondering, my score was an 87. Oh, sorry, it was an 87/100, but was that clarification really necessary?
Anyway, all of the above was deleted from Facebook because I looked like a complete idiot. Feel free to comment on how easy the ServSafe exam is. I’m over it.
Side note: Blooket is like the best thing ever (I get no compensation or even an attagirl from them for saying that) because they have no idea I’ve even mentioned them, but Blooket is a great dating idea, too. Simply create a trivia game on any topic (I’ve got some great ServSafe questions that you can borrow), then invite a small group of couples or singles to an awesome brewery, and voila, you have an exciting night ahead.
